No Go Zones
This course provides initial training in accordance with the requirements of the Office of the Chief Electrical Inspector for personnel required to be authorised as a 'No Go Zone' spotter. This course is designed to develop competency in the task of observing and warning personnel operating mobile plant and equipment against unsafe approach to overhead power lines and other electrical apparatus.
Competency Requirements:
The following lists competency requirements to enable authorisation as a work site
"No Go Zone" Spotter:
Learner must possess a current Certificate of Competency or demonstrate competency in the operation of relevant plant/equipment and an appropriate current first aid certificate.
Issue of Licence
Your Statement of Attainment Card displays your date of issue and expiry, and requires your signature for added protection. All codes are listed and detailed on the back of your card.

- Completion of this "No Go Zone Spotters" course.
- Certificate of Competency in the operation of the plant for which they will be spotting.
- Current and approved First Aid training.
- Regulations, Codes of Practice and Standards
- OH&S requirements and personnel responsibilities
- Role, function, duties and responsibilities of the Spotter
- Identification of electrical apparatus and conductors
- "No Go Zone" approach limit distances
- Electrical hazards workplace incidents and procedures to be followed in the event of contacting electrical conductors
- Pre start job safety considerations and Job Safety Analysis
- Approved communication and signalling methods
- Operating characteristics of plant and equipment
- Factors affecting the operation of plant and equipment
- Practical site training exercises
